The Inteligo team took a revolutionary decision of modifying the existing IT architecture without implementing a new Card Management System. A new Inteligo Authorisation Host was built and placed in the Inteligo Authorisation Centre, a high security solution that handles cryptography certificates and functions, also based on an HSM module used for authentication of customers and authorisation of their electronic banking transactions.
The new authorisation host within the Inteligo Platform established a new "card channel" connected to the iCC middleware. Thus a new connection was formed to the VISA and MasterCard payment organisations, and to the PKO Bank Polsk, eService and the Euronet systems. As a result, the products and services provided by the Bank's transaction systems now became accessible via the middleware.
The Inteligo team was thus able to avoid the time consuming process of selection and integration of an external CMS system and the need for implementation of synchronisation mechanisms in respect of the card and user databases. The authorisation messages are processed through the authorisation host operating within the Inteligo Authorisation Centre, to be subsequently channelled directly to the Fidelity Profile banking system. The cryptographic message processing and the PIN authentication take place within the Inteligo Authorisation Centre while the product and financial servicing, including creation of a detailed operation record happen in the banking system.
Adoption of this new solution made possible the development and the November 2010 implementation of a new payment card that successfully combines the features of a credit and a debit card; the first of the kind in Poland. Customers using the card can make cash withdrawals directly from their bank account while making non-cash transactions by firstly utilising awarded credit limit. This link between the card and the bank account protects the user against incurring any unauthorised negative balance; likely to occur when transactions are executed after full utilisation of a credit limit. The Inteligo transaction service enables comprehensive management of such a card. - In November Inteligo Financial Services made new services and functionalities available to the Inteligo account users. These included: operation authorisation tools (text message conveyed codes and a token application for the mobile phone); and an advanced transaction service browser (the pioneering electronic banking tool providing unlimited access to the entire customer account history; right from the moment of its activation).
- The groundbreaking Inteligo electronic contract solution introduced in September enabled the Inteligo customers to enter into loan agreements on remote basis; in compliance with all statutory requirements.
- In August a select group of Inteligo Financial Services customers were granted access to BETA Inteligo, a newly expanded version of the transaction service, which enables the use of new products and services prior to their commercial launch. Through this beta testing project Inteligo now engages its customers in the offer development process.
- In June Inteligo Financial Services launched MojeInteligo.pl, a new information service with the mission of canvassing all the internauts interested in innovative banking and of demonstrating that this can actually be not just practical, but also make for an easy and pleasant experience.
- In May Inteligo turned to a group of 100 customers for consumer testing of a SIM card combining the telecommunication function with a payment application (an Inteligo debit card), the first of its kind in the CEE region.
