A new edition of start-ups’ recruitment in the MIT Enterprise Forum Polska programme has started. PKO Bank Polski is the supervisor of the path dedicated to modern financial technologies. We are looking for young Polish companies and teams whose solutions are distinguished by uniqueness, adequate business potential and advanced level of concept maturity.
As part of the Let's Fintech with PKO Bank Polski path, the acceleration programme offers four workshop sessions for start-ups that help create or verify the business model, offer support of mentors and expert advice in the area of grant procurement, tax provisions and protection of intellectual property; the best start-ups will take part in a special bootcamp, as part of the trip to the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology and meet with investors in the USA.
Selected solutions will be tested in the customer environment, as part of the Laboratory Branch project pursued by PKO Bank Polski, which offers a unique chance for verifying the ideas and evaluating their utility both for the customers and the business. Currently, the Bank has six branches that are prepared for the testing of new solutions and performance of activities aimed at improvement of sales processes.

Coinfirm Blockchain Lab
This is a typical Fintech or even a Regtech, whose members set up the first Blockchain lab in the Central Europe. The aim of the Lab is to allow the financial, technological and educational institutions to participate in the revolution started by Blockchain. Block Lab is also used as an eco-system that brings together users with best talents, as well as start-ups, technologies, partners and investors from all over the world. The company is involved in broadly understood Compliance solutions, including analysis of data in the cryptocurrency network and fraud prevention.
The idea which they submitted to the Accelerator “encompasses a solution used to confirm and authenticate documents, allowing for the use of the modern Blockchain technology in practice.”
IC Solutions
A company offering manual electronic signature and digitisation of customer’s signatures.
IC Pen is a system of data digitisation which allows for recording text written on paper in an electronic form. IC Pen digital pens expand the potential of an ordinary pen onto automatic digitisation functions and processing of data written manually in real time. Documents completed and signed with such pen in a paper version will be automatically saved in the electronic version. In a word, this is a solution supporting the “paperless” process and allowing for reduced use of paper, as well as streamlining the servicing process. It may be used in multiple industries, including finance.
Moneyfriend
The company was established during Start-Up Weekend Warsaw Fintech, where PKO Bank Polski was the diamond partner. The idea relies on the new trend of creating solutions based on CUI (contextual user interface), i.e. communication with users via text. Moneyfriend created a bank bot dedicated for the segment of young customers; they can use it to communicate with the bank easily, just as they communicate with their friends on a daily basis. The bot will communicate with the clients via a popular messaging app, Facebook Messenger. Potential functionalities include inquires about account balance or list of performed operations, or even commissioning a transfer. A bot may also perform an advisory role, sending messages suggesting, e.g., savings. Thanks to Moneyfriend, a customer can grab their smart phone and obtain access to information quickly and easily or find an answer to a simple problem.
Nu Delta
A young team of buffs from Poznań created a solution that may potentially streamline processing of data from documents, both paper and electronic, e.g. invoices. The distinguishing feature of Nu Delta is the use of innovative algorithms allowing for contextual recognition of data in a document, significantly improving and accelerating the process of digitisation and further business use.
The solution also “learns” documents and makes the reading of them simpler, faster and - primarily - more efficient.
Fenige
A team of card and payment lovers. Their business idea is a platform for transferring funds between users of pay cards of various banks on an international scale. The functionality of card organisation infrastructure is used to this aim. The team has developed its own, fully operational platform for transaction processing. Fenige offers an innovative moneysend service, i.e. transfer from card to card. It is enough to enter one’s own credit card data on a website or a mobile app and specify the number of the card to which funds are to be transferred. The solution is an interesting and accessible version of international P2P payment system.
The speed of transaction processing and the scale of potential users are its’ great advantages.
Saas Manager
An IT platform used to create and integrate cloud services. The idea of the project is to create an eco-system integrating a number of connected micro-services with an effective API. A flexible and comprehensive approach compliant with Agile methodology constitutes an innovation. Saas Manager implementation in a large corporation allows for acceleration of processes, cost savings and easy opening onto integration of external services. The company has completed the first pilot projects with companies from the ICT industry.
